| One of the manifestations
of Padma Sambahava, the founder of Mahayana Buddhism, is the
Tiger. Perhaps the woman is a hermit, a nun, a virgin in the
classical Greek sense. Her features andbrocade gown evoke the
Orient. She emanates a commanding womanliness. She wears a serene
smile as if she is enjoying the natural world in which she is
so comfortable. Another layer of meaning could be the Tarot
Card “Strength”, with a tiger instead of a lion.
