Remember the Mowgli
series by Rudyard Kipling? The artist claims she wanted
to be Mowgli and live in the jungle with her animal friends
and still does. This painting is the most recent of
the tiger series. Orchids hang in the foreground. She
is sitting by a tranquil, slow jungle river lost in contemplation
of the surrounding beauty. Her deeply mourned dog, Orlando,
a tiger and bear sit nearby as if they too were enjoying the
view. She and her companions are far from the cacophony
of civilization, wars and crisis, deep in the womb of Mother
Nature.
