One
of the characters in this painting, greatly exaggerated in size,
is the costume – which stands just to the left of the church
door – go to “Portraits” to see the actual model.
On the right is San Isidrio, patron saint of farmers, he has
a plow with low rider fenders. Bear, deer and masked dancers
have come to join the procession – all the banners are aspects
of the Great Mother, Our Lady of Guadalupe, Gaia, the Corn Mother.
